Over 25 years of rowing on the Broad River in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Columbia Rowing Club is a 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 1998 on the Broad River in the midlands of South Carolina.
We aim to advance the sport of rowing in this area by meeting the needs of introductory, recreational, and competitive rowers. Our programs serve everyone from first-time rowers to experienced athletes training for regional competition.
CRC offers a number of programs to the public including youth, masters, and recreational teams. We also welcome visiting crews and guest rowers from across the country.
The Broad River is protected from wind by high tree lines and high river banks, creating ideal rowing conditions throughout much of the year.
Our stretch of river features two 2,000-meter rowing straightaways with typically extremely calm water—perfect for detailed coaching instruction and training.
With average winter high temperatures around 55°F and occasional 70-degree days, Columbia's climate allows for nearly year-round rowing, making it a popular destination for visiting crews during winter training.
The Columbia Rowing Club is led by a dedicated volunteer board.
